I have been riding backseat on a friend's Instrument lessons. This serves as a learning experience for me, but also gives him and the instructor another set of eyes outside the airplane watching for traffic. On the last two occasions, we have encountered another aircraft (different each time) performing low level maneuvers (pattern alt) in the vicinity of (within 1 mi) of our home field and neither participating on Unicom nor talking with controllers of nearby Charlie airspace (we sit 5 mi outside the outer ring). In that case, no one is actually breaking any rules, but I find the violation of common sense to be baffling.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11846593737518887287noreply@blogger.com
